Country Lodges

Client Brief: To create a timeless light, bright, luxurious, practical, flexible and non-gender specific five star level interior.

The Country Lodges site was used as a hostel to house the land army women working on the local farmland during the Second World War. All but one of the buildings (viewing tower – previously a water tower) have now been demolished. Lindsey wanted to pay homage to these inspirational, hard working women by reflecting some elements of 1940’s design into the interiors of the new lodges. Britain was greatly influenced post war by America and Hollywood glamour. Lindsey captured this buzz of chic elegance, excitement and luxury within the accommodation, achieving a contemporary look to suit our living style today but with a nod back to the design style and some iconic designs of the late 1940’s.
